It is definitely important to be self aware but most people to talk about being self-conscious usually associate the term with being aware of the flaws they think they have. Being self-conscious can cause people to be anti-social, shy, and seriously depressed. It is important to value yourself and know that you are a wonderful person. Everyone has flaws, that’s part of what makes us all human
