5 – Vitamin B-12




The most dependable source for vitamin B-12 is meat and is essential for good memory health. People who do not eat meat are at high risk for B-12 deficiency and should get their levels checked. It can be taken as a supplement or as an injection to more rapidly restore normal levels. When combined with B-6 and folic acid, B-12 has proven to prevent mental decline i patients with dementia and may also be an effective treatment for Alzheimer’s because reduces levels of homocysteine.
