Research shows that perfectionism may be inherited rather than jus a product of a parents emphasis on achievement. Luckily there is a way to escape the perils of perfectionism. For example, don’t try to write an entire book , just write a page. Set manageable goals instead of setting the bar so high, this will allow more opportunity for achievement and personal satisfaction. I once read an eye opening quote from Julia Cameron, “perfectionism is not a quest for the best, it is a pursuit for the worst in ourselves, the part that tells us that nothing will ever be good enough.” Don’t compare your beginning stage with someone else’s end result.
