Paraneoplastic neurological syndromes are a group of disorders that affect people that are fighting cancer. This occurs when caver fighting agents of the immune system attack the muscles. It usually happens in patients with breast cancer, lung cancer, or ovarian cancer. Symptoms consist of lack of coordination, sleeplessness, lack of sensory perception, and in most cases causes problems with memory. If caught early enough it can be prevented but in cases where extensive cell damage has occurred, the syndromes cannot be reversed.
