9 – Reminisce

Image of number 9 reminisce

People with dementia  may have trouble recalling what happened 30 minutes ago, but they can usually remember their life events from 30 years ago. Avoid conversing and asking questions about what they ate for lunch or things that rely on short term memory. Ask questions about their distant past, encouraging them to remember their past is usually a soothing and reaffirming activity.
