Myth 10: Alcohol Kills Brain Cells

myth_10_alcohol

Truth:  Alcohol does NOT kill brain cells.

Research has actually discovered that drinking alcohol in moderation can actually improve cognitive function more than abstaining from alcohol will. Having a glass of wine with your steak or a margarita with your nachos will actually improve your thinking, memory, and reasoning skills, especially into old age. A research conducted in Australia tested  over 7,000 people ages 20 to 60 and found that those who drank in moderation tested better than abstainers on all measures of cognitive skills. However, alcohol abuse can cause serious health issues so keep in mind that moderation is key.
