They may also find themselves unable to retrace their steps to find the object again. The person likely lacks a strategic search strategy and will feel as if they have searched exhaustively, prompting them to become suspicious that others might be stealing from them. Their suspicion then encourages them to hide and hoard things to keep their belongings safe.
