Cathisophobia is the fear of sitting down and is also known as thaasophobia. For young people, the anxiety about sitting stems from a feeling of being trapped or an inability to sit still. In elderly, the phobia develops because sitting is uncomfortable , especially for log periods of time. Most activities require people to sit such watching a movie, working in an office, going to class, or simply sitting down for dinner so the condition can interfere tremendously with everyday life.
