For the seventh consecutive time Ramón Campayo was proclaimed World Champion in Speed Memory in the world championship held on September 24-25 at Circolo Villa Spada, Roma, in what was undoubtedly the highest level, most disputed and most exciting competition in history. Given his poor state of health, Ramón had to rely on his experience and his performance was completely strategic. The champion focused on reaching a “decent” (according to him) score in 4 tests, and minimum scores in the 2 remaining tests (decimals and binary numbers in 1 second). With a multitude of nullified tries and with the use of the competition calculator to control Chus GarcÃa, Ramón paced himself in order to win the championship without other pretentions.
